What are custom blankets used for?
Custom blankets and throws are branded fleece or sherpa throws, usually embroidered with a small corner logo, ordered as client gifts, employee milestone gifts, and stadium or alumni giveaways. They are ordered in bulk, with a free mockup before production.
About custom blankets and throws
A blanket is the rare piece of branded merchandise that ends up in someone's living room rather than their desk drawer, and it stays there for years. That longevity is the whole argument for it, and it is also the constraint: a blanket only gets kept if the branding is restrained enough that the recipient is not making a statement by owning it.
We produce custom blankets and throws in fleece and sherpa, at a size that works on a sofa or over a stadium seat, and we decorate them with a compact embroidered mark, usually in a corner. Large printed logos across the face are possible and we will make them if asked, but they are the reliable way to turn a gift into something that goes in a cupboard.
Companies order them for client gifting and employee milestones, universities and schools order them for alumni and stadium giveaways, and event organizers order them for cold-weather events where a blanket is genuinely useful rather than decorative. Tell us the quantity you need and we'll price that run.
Delivered per-unit pricing for custom blankets runs about $22–$40 at 50, $19–$35 at 100, and $17–$30 at 250 or more, with standard US shipping to one address included at every tier.
Best for
- Client gifts and year-end corporate gifting
- Employee milestones, work anniversaries, and retirement gifts
- Alumni, stadium, and homecoming giveaways
- Cold-weather event and conference gifting
Fleece or sherpa, and what the difference is
Fleece is the lighter, plainer option: a brushed polyester with a consistent surface on both faces, warm without being heavy, and easy to fold into a gift box. It is the practical choice for a stadium giveaway or a conference gift where quantity matters and the blanket needs to travel flat.
Sherpa-backed throws have a smooth face and a deep, curly pile on the reverse, which makes them substantially warmer and considerably more expensive. They read as a real gift in a way plain fleece does not, and they are what you want for a client or a milestone where the recipient is meant to register that some thought went into it.
If you are ordering for two different purposes, order two different blankets rather than compromising on one. The gift blanket and the giveaway blanket are genuinely different products and pretending otherwise usually means overspending on the giveaway and underspending on the gift.
Where to put the logo, and how big
In a corner, small, embroidered. That is very nearly the whole of the advice. A compact corner mark is visible when the blanket is folded, invisible when it is in use, and it signals quality rather than sponsorship. It is the version people keep.
The alternative, a large logo or full-face design, is appropriate for a stadium giveaway where the blanket IS the branding and everyone in the stand having the same one is the point. For a client gift it is a mistake, because it makes the recipient choose between using your gift and having your logo in their living room, and they will choose the cupboard.
Full-face designs are produced by sublimation, which bonds the design into the fibre with no surface layer, so the blanket stays soft. Embroidery is used for corner marks. Heat transfer is available and is the least durable of the three on a pile fabric, so we generally steer away from it.
What custom blankets cost in bulk
Blankets are one of the higher-value items in a swag budget and the price is driven almost entirely by the blank rather than the decoration: a sherpa throw costs multiples of a plain fleece one, while a corner embroidery costs the same on either. That means the single biggest decision affecting your budget is which blanket, not what you put on it.
The per-piece price falls with quantity in the usual way, though less steeply than on printed apparel because there is no large one-time setup to spread. For a mixed gifting programme, blankets are usually the anchor item that the rest of the budget is built around.
Blankets as gifts, and blankets as giveaways
As a client gift, a blanket works because it is used in a context where nobody is performing for anyone: at home, on a sofa, in winter. That is a genuinely valuable place for a brand to sit, and it is why blankets outperform most desk items for gifting. Pair it with something small and consumable in a box and it becomes a real gift rather than swag. Our client gifts page covers how those boxes are usually built.
As an employee milestone gift, a blanket suits anniversaries and retirements specifically, where the point is that the thing outlasts the employment. Our work anniversary gift ideas cover the wider range.
As a stadium or alumni giveaway, the calculus inverts completely: quantity and visibility matter, plain fleece is the right blank, and a large logo is correct because the whole stand holding the same blanket is the image the programme wants. Different product, different rules, same order form.
Related items
Blankets are usually the anchor of a gift box rather than a standalone item, and they pair most often with drinkware and the rest of the desk and event essentials range in a curated set.
For a cold-weather event or an alumni programme, beanies are the other item that gets kept, and they cost a fraction as much.

Custom blankets and throws, frequently asked questions
Everything is priced per unit and produced as a single made-to-order run, and the per-unit price steps down as the run grows: the published bands are read at 50, 100, and 250 or more. The one-time decoration setup is divided across the whole order, which is why the same item costs less each at a higher quantity. Tell us your quantity in a quote request and we'll price that run.
Yes, and a compact embroidered corner mark is what we recommend for anything given as a gift. It is visible folded, invisible in use, and it reads as quality rather than sponsorship. We digitize your logo once and keep it on file so reorders match.
Throw size: large enough to cover an adult on a sofa or over a stadium seat, and small enough to fold into a gift box. If you need a specific dimension for a packaging spec or a bid, tell us in your quote request and we will confirm the exact size of the blank we would run.
Fleece is a lighter brushed polyester, consistent on both faces, warm without weight, and the practical choice for giveaways. Sherpa has a smooth face and a deep pile reverse, which makes it noticeably warmer, more expensive, and much more convincing as a gift. Choose by purpose, not by price.
There is no minimum to clear. For a client gifting programme that usually covers a full year of gifts, which is worth ordering in one run: the dye lot stays consistent and the per-piece price is better than splitting it across quarters.
Yes, by sublimation, which bonds the design into the fibre so the blanket stays soft with no surface layer. It is the right choice for a stadium or alumni giveaway where the blanket is the branding. For a client gift we would still recommend a small corner mark instead.
