How much do custom tote bags cost?
Custom tote bags are priced by quantity, decoration, and color, with a low per-piece cost at volume; the published bands are read at 50, 100, and 250 or more. They're screen printed across a large front panel in one color or full color on heavyweight canvas. Request a free quote and a mockup before anything is produced.
About custom tote bags
The custom tote bag might be the highest-mileage piece of merch there is. A sturdy canvas tote becomes a grocery bag, a gym bag, a work bag: carrying your logo through everyday life long after the event that gave it away. That repeated, in-public exposure is exactly why totes are such a smart spend.
We print totes across a generous front area in one color or full color, on heavyweight canvas that holds its shape under real weight. Choose from premium neutral colors that make brand marks stand out.
Totes are an event and retail staple thanks to a low per-piece cost at volume. Design one in the studio or send your logo for a free mockup before production.
Best for
- Event and conference giveaways
- Retail and bookstore bags
- Welcome-kit packaging
- Farmers-market and sustainability merch
Custom canvas tote bags built to last
We print on heavyweight cotton canvas, and the weight is the whole point. A flimsy promotional tote gets used once and tossed; a sturdy custom canvas tote bag holds its shape under a full load of groceries or books and keeps getting reached for, which is exactly when your logo earns its mileage. The natural canvas also gives printed ink, whether a clean one-color mark or a full-color custom printed canvas tote bag, a crisp, premium surface to sit on.
Choose from a range of premium neutral colors that make brand marks stand out without looking cheap. Because the bag itself feels good to carry, it stays in rotation as a grocery bag, a gym bag, or a work bag: repeated, in-public exposure that a one-off giveaway never gets close to.
Custom tote bags with your logo
Branding a tote is simple: we print across a generous front panel, so there's plenty of room for a logo, a slogan, or a full-color design. Customized tote bags work in one color for a clean, classic look or full color when your artwork calls for it, heavyweight canvas holds detail well either way. Want your mark sized and placed for maximum impact? Our logo placement guide covers principles that translate straight to a tote's front panel.
Lay out your design live in the Design Studio to see exactly how your logo sits on the bag, or just send us the file and we'll build a free mockup. Nothing is printed until you approve it.
Canvas vs cotton vs recycled totes
Three fabrics cover almost every tote order, and they are not interchangeable. Heavyweight cotton canvas is the workhorse: stiff enough to stand up on its own, thick enough to carry books or groceries without stretching at the handles, and the best surface of the three for a crisp screen print. It is what we default to, and it is why a canvas tote survives long enough to keep showing your logo.
Lighter cotton is thinner and softer, which makes it cheaper per piece and easier to fold flat into a welcome kit or a conference bag. The trade-off is honest: it drapes rather than stands, and it will not take the same abuse. Choose it when the tote is a nice extra in a box rather than the bag someone is meant to live with.
Recycled totes use post-consumer material, usually recycled cotton or rPET, and they are the right call when the order is for a sustainability program, an environmental nonprofit, or a brand whose buyers will ask. The texture is slightly more variable than virgin cotton, which reads as a feature rather than a flaw on that kind of order. If eco credentials are the point of the giveaway, our guide to eco-friendly promotional products covers what actually holds up to scrutiny.
Print sizes and placement on a tote
A tote gives you one big, flat, uninterrupted panel, which is more forgiving than any garment. The usual placement is centered on the front, sitting slightly above the midpoint so the design is not hidden by the wearer's arm or swallowed by the bag folding as it is carried. Most orders use a wide landscape print for a logo with a wordmark, or a tighter square when the mark is a standalone icon.
Two practical limits shape the artwork. Keep the design clear of the side seams and the handle stitching, because ink laid over a seam cracks; and keep fine detail above hairline weight, because canvas has a coarser weave than a t-shirt and very thin lines lose definition in it. Bold, high-contrast art is what makes canvas sing.
Sizing principles carry over almost unchanged from apparel, so our logo placement guide is worth a read before you finalize artwork. Or lay it out in the Design Studio and see the print area on the bag itself: we will flag anything that runs into a seam in your free mockup before it is printed.
What 100 custom tote bags cost
100 custom tote bags land at roughly $400–$700 for the whole order, about $4–$7 each, delivered with standard US shipping to one address included.
That figure moves on three things: quantity, the number of ink colors, and the fabric. The one-time screen setup is charged once and then spread across the run, which is the single biggest reason the per-piece price falls as you order more, and why 100 is meaningfully cheaper each than 50. A one-color print on canvas is the cheapest combination and also the most durable.
For a fuller breakdown at this quantity, see what 100 custom tote bags cost, or the custom merch cost guide if you are budgeting totes alongside apparel in one kit. Every real order is itemized free before you commit.
Tote bags for events, schools, and client gifts
Conferences and trade shows order totes first, because the tote IS the swag bag: it carries everything else on the table and then leaves the venue with the attendee. See conference and trade show merch for how a tote fits alongside the rest of a booth lineup, or event merch for one-off events and festivals.
Schools and student groups use totes for bookstore bags, library programs, teacher appreciation, and fundraisers where a low per-piece cost leaves real margin on each sale. They are also one of the few items that suit an all-ages crowd with no sizes to collect, which makes them far easier to run than apparel. Our school spirit wear page covers the wider program.
For client gifting, a heavyweight canvas tote with a small, restrained mark reads as a real object rather than a giveaway, especially packed with something inside it. See client gifts for how totes work as the outer layer of a curated box.
Bulk and custom printed tote bags for events
Custom tote bags bulk orders are where totes really shine: they're made to order, so the per-piece price drops as quantity rises, and US shipping to one address is included in the figure you see. A run scales from a single event to a full conference or retail order.
Custom printed tote bags are a staple of event giveaways, welcome kits, and retail packaging because they're useful, affordable at volume, and genuinely kept. Planning a budget across a kit? The custom merch cost guide lays out what to expect, and our event merch page covers totes alongside the rest of an event lineup.
How we compare on bulk tote bag orders
The same facts-only comparison from our vendor comparison page, applied to a tote order: order quantity policy, whether a mockup is free before you pay, whether the price includes shipping, payment terms, decoration methods, and whether a human checks the artwork before it prints. Every competitor cell is footnoted to that company's own public page, and anything we could not verify says so rather than guessing.
