Custom embroidered scrubs

Medical uniforms are laundered at temperatures and frequencies that destroy applied graphics. Heat-transfer vinyl lifts at the edges, screen-printed ink on a poly-cotton scrub cracks, and DTF goes chalky. Embroidered thread does none of that: it is stitched through the fabric rather than sitting on it, so the failure mode is the garment wearing out first, which is what you want.

There is a presentation argument too. A stitched logo has physical depth, and on a plain, functional garment that depth is most of what separates a practice that looks organized from one that looks like it bought matching shirts. Patients read it without knowing they are reading it.

The practical constraint is size. Embroidery on a lightweight scrub fabric wants a compact design; a large embroidered panel adds stiffness and weight exactly where a scrub should drape, and it can pucker the fabric around it. We will tell you at mockup if your logo needs simplifying to stitch cleanly at chest size, which is common for logos designed for a screen rather than for thread.

Most practices add a name, and it is worth doing. A patient who can read a name relaxes slightly, and staff who have their own garment treat it better than a pooled one. The usual layout is the practice logo on the left chest and the person's name on the right, with credentials on the same line or beneath.

Credentials are where orders most often go wrong, because they are abbreviations that matter professionally and are easy to get subtly wrong. Send them exactly as each person writes them, including punctuation, and check them in the mockup: we lay out every name before production specifically so that check is possible.

Per-person embroidery is a per-garment charge because each one is a separate stitch-out, but it does not require splitting the order. Fifty scrubs with fifty different names run as one job on one quote.

Scrub sizing is looser than street apparel by design, and the fits differ meaningfully between men's and women's cuts, so this is one of the few orders where running both is usually worth the extra admin. A staff group forced into a single unisex cut generally ends up with several people in something that fits badly enough that they buy their own, which defeats the point of a uniform.

Collect sizes once, properly, and keep the list. Because uniform orders repeat on a cycle, a size list on file turns the second order into a reorder rather than a fresh project, and we keep your spec, logo digitization, and name layout on file for exactly that reason.

Order a little deeper than headcount on the middle sizes. Practices hire, and a scrub that arrives in the same dye lot as the rest is worth having on a shelf.

A uniform order is rarely just scrubs. Most practices pair them with embroidered polos for reception and non-clinical staff, and a jacket or fleece layer for anyone who moves between buildings. Ordering those together keeps the logo digitization, the thread colours, and the delivery on one job.
